Can Old CDs, DVDs and Memory Cards Still Be Read?

CDs and DVDs

Floppy Discs

Floppy discs are much older and can be more challenging to access. The main issue is finding the right equipment to read the particular type of floppy disc, as modern computers no longer have floppy drives.

A card that looks unfamiliar today may still contain perfectly usable

photographs. If you have an old card from a digital camera, it is worth checking before assuming the photographs are lost.

What If The Computer Doesn't Recognise It?

Several reasons may prevent older media from being immediately accessible.

The equipment may not support the format, the disc or card may have deteriorated, or the original files may have been created using older software or equipment.

That doesn't necessarily mean the contents are gone. Sometimes you just need the right equipment or a different way to access the media.
